Extravaganza

Extravaganza was founded in December 2023 by Masita and Akeesha after they were in conversation about dancing, music and carnival. The question of starting their own carnival group came up often. Especially because several people asked this question.

Masita and Akeesha are real carnivalists at heart, deeply rooted in their Caribbean roots. They saw this as a calling and quickly started talking to interested parties. They formed a team with four other volunteers and began a journey full of joy and fun.

Super enthusiastic, they got to work. On January 2, 2024, Extravaganza decided to sign up for Rotterdam Unlimited’s street parade. With minimal resources, a fantastic result was achieved. The theme of 2024 was: Paradise, it’s not a place but a feeling. It was a grand debut with lots of happy and dancing people!
